G Robert Stephenson, MD, FACS, Interim Vice President, Chief Quality Officer
After graduating Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Colgate University, Dr. Stephenson received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in General Surgery at Duke University, and a year of fellowship training in Multi-Organ Transplantation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
He came to Fort Worth, Texas and joined the medical staff at JPS in 2004. Dr. Stephenson has been an active member of the now Level I Trauma team at JPS since that time. In 2010, he developed a program at JPS in Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Surgery and Surgical Oncology and founded a Surgical Oncology Clinic at what is now the JPS Infusion and Oncology Center.
Dr. Stephenson was appointed Vice Chief of Surgery for Quality, Safety and Patient Experience in the JPS Department of Surgery in December of 2017. The department is now part of the Acclaim Physician Group. In April 2019, he was named interim Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for JPS Health Network.
He also continues to maintain an active clinical practice in Trauma, Acute Care and HPB Surgery.
